The 62nd edition of the Airborne March
The 62nd edition of the Airborne March went smoothly. The 32,212 participants enjoyed the march under favourable walking conditions. The Airborne March, the world's largest one-day marching-event.
These remembrance marches are held every year on the first Saturday in September at the village of Oosterbeek (near Arnhem) in The Netherlands.
With distances of 10, 15, 25 and 40 kilometres, it is an "all-age"-march.
The participants for the 40 km part left with with some slight rain, but for the other conditions the weather improved. When the first participants crossed the finish line under the arch, the clouds faded away. From there on everyone was welcomed back under sunny conditions.
